Thank you. I am speaking on item 11.6 on the agenda.
Iceland thanks the Russian Federation for the leadership on this important topic and is pleased to support the resolution as a co-sponsor. We do so as we have, with many other partners over recent years, highlighted the heavy global burden of neurological conditions, being the second leading cause of death and a leading cause of disability in the world with estimated one in three people having a neurological disorder at some point in their lifetime.

I would like to begin with declaring my pleasure with the work that the WHO is initiating and relates to the nervous system. The establishment of the Brain Health Unit and the work which is to be carried out under the guidance of the Unit as regards on international action plans and future policies for the benefit of the nervous system, is extremely pressing. I would also like to express my pleasure with the report of Dr. Tetros Ghebreyesus, the Director-General ofWHO, A73/5 which states e.g. the following.
